Midwifery school. They have a lot of knowledge in delivery, perhaps not as much as an obstetrician but are able to deliver babies in the privacy of a woman’s home.

How much does this job pay?

Salaries range between $60 to $80 K per year, depending on the experience and location of practice

Midwife:

Objective:

To introduce students to the selected career and how the skills necessary are tied to school curriculum.

Students will understand where and how a Midwife delvers babies.

Materials:

Video and article, venn diagram

Procedure:

The teacher will review the video and read the article with the entire class.

The teacher will draw a venn diagram and have the students write similarities to that of child birth in a hospital vs. a midwife delivering at home.

The teacher will focus on the differences between the two and finally the similarities.

All students will partake in this discussion and discuss if this occupation appeals to them, why or why not?
