Keeping the Books in Order:


To introduce students to the selected career and how the skills necessary are tied to school curriculum.Students will learn how to review business work to see if everything makes sense and is accurate.


Paper, Pencils


Students will take a piece of paper and fold it length wise in half, labeling it side A and side B.
Students will write down their activities in column A that they enjoy doing with their friends, i.e.: movies, pizza etc.
Students will write the cost of how much money they spend during the week
Students will write the amount of money they have weekly to start.
Teacher will ask the students to work with a partner.
Teacher will explain and demonstrate with one group to the class.
The teacher will be the guide for both the auditor and for the person being audited.
The auditor will review the activities and determine if the amounts documented are accurate.
The auditor will add up the expenses and then use a calculator to assure if the amount is correct.
The auditor will view the weekly amount of money and determine if they are overspending.
The auditor now allows the partner to become the auditor.
The teacher asks each group their findings and to allow for them to explain their audit to the class.
